Purchase this NEW Children’s Book & Have One Donated to a Resettled Child
We would like to share the exciting announcement of Dorcas International's new collaborative initiative in support of the book release for Wherever I Go by Mary Wagley Copp and Munir D. Mohammed (illustrator). This powerful fictional story is a picture book that follows the journey of one very creative little girl navigating a difficult life in a refugee camp.
"Filled with hope, love, and respect, Wherever I Go is a timely tribute to the strength and courage of refugees around the world."
Due to the current circumstances, they have had to postpone the Wherever I Go Book Launch Party, but they are still celebrating this wonderful story's path to publication, and we would like to help!
Dorcas International has a small annual grant that is earmarked for a literacy initiative — and this year, we are putting that grant toward a 1:1 match for each purchase of Wherever I Go! This means that each book that's bought will result in a book also going to a resettled child. So, if you buy one book, then one will also be donated! And if you buy five, five will be donated!
Right now, you can pre-order Wherever I Go through Books on the Square's website here: www.booksq.com. During the month of April, they will keep track of the books sold, and Dorcas International will then match each purchase. Not only will you get a signed copy(ies), but a resettled child will also receive a copy AND you’ll be supporting a local, independent bookstore – which is so important during this difficult time!
A hopeful and timely picture book about a spirited little girl living in a refugee camp.Of all her friends, Abia has been at the Shimelba Refugee Camp the longest—seven years, four months, and sixteen days. Papa says that’s too long and they need a forever home. Until then, though, Abia has something important to do. Be a queen.
