Administrative Professional Training Program

Complete the Administrative Professional Certificate to prepare for a successful career as an administrative assistant, customer service representative, office manager, receptionist, and other. This program provides detailed information on customer service skills, de-escalation techniques, organizational and technological tools as well as the basics of accounting, purchasing, and office machine operations. The program also offers a special focus on workplace readiness skills combined with field practice/on-the-job learning experience.

You can finish the program in 2 months and enter the job market with new skills that are perfectly suited for entry-level administrative roles in a variety of settings including medical offices, law firms, banks, social and human services agencies, and more.

Upon successful completion of the Administrative Professional Training Program, you will be awarded an official Certificate issued by Dorcas International Institute of Rhode Island.

Program Components:
30 hours classroom instruction | 15 hours work-readiness training | 15 hours practical learning/on-the-job training

Duration & Schedule:
8 weeks | 9:00am - 11:30am Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday (Dates/times may vary depending on student needs)

Teaching Mode:
Hybrid (50% face-to-face classes and 50% virtual meetings)
In-person meetings take place at our North Campus located at 220 Elmwood Avenue, Providence, RI 02907
Online classes take place on Zoom

All students enrolled in this pilot program's first cohort will receive full scholarships (All fees will be covered by our funding partners)

  • High School Diploma or GED (Please note, your High School Diploma does not have to be from the U.S. If you have a High School Diploma from a foreign country, it is equally eligible.)
  • Intermediate level English proficiency (if English is not your native language, you must pass the CASAS (English proficiency) test with a minimum score of 215.)
  • U.S. Work Authorization
  • Commitment to finding a job as an administrative professional
  • BCI (state background check which costs $5) More info on how to obtain here
  • Fully vaccinated with proof of vaccination

Applicants must complete the application below. Once the application is submitted, an Admissions staff member will reach out to schedule an orientation, an English Proficiency (CASAS) test (if applicable), and to verify eligibility.
