We're excited to share Partnership for a New American Economy's release of new research on the Contributions of New Americans.

This state by state report, including data on the foreign-born population in Rhode Island, their tax contributions, their spending power, and their role in Rhode Island’s key industries as leaders and job creators.

The Partnership for a New American Economy brings together more than 500 Republican, Democratic and Independent mayors and business leaders who support immigration reforms that will help create jobs for Americans today. The Partnership’s members include mayors of more than 35 million people nationwide and business leaders of companies that generate more than $1.5 trillion and employ more than 4 million people across all sectors of the economy.

Gifts of Diversity Exhibit (8.22.16–9.9.16)

Opening Reception: Thursday, Aug. 25, 6 - 8:30 pm
Atrium Gallery, One Capitol Hill, PVD

Celebrate our state’s diversity and launch of the Welcoming RI Exhibition featuring work by local artists who come from around the world.  The reception features art,music, dance, and food.   Free and open to the public.

One of those gifts is Welcoming RI’s ongoing partnership with Providence College’s Global Studies program resulting in the collection of almost 100 stories for the “My Story,Our Community” project. It has been Welcoming RI’s dream to translate this project into a traveling art exhibit that will visit all 39 cities and towns in Rhode Island and we are turning this into a reality. The exhibition will feature a selection of these stories, as well as work from many local artistsand performers.
