On Friday, January 24th, 2025, the Administration issued a “stop work” order for Reception & Placement (R&P) programming. This programming welcomes newly arrived refugees to the United States. The goal is to fully integrate them into American life as self-standing members of their new communities. Over the course of 30-90 days, refugees establish a Social Security number, begin English classes, and enroll in employment training courses. Many refugees later go on to start thriving businesses, from small town restaurants and coffee shops to massive corporations like Google.
